FLAWLESS: Girls EmpowHERment Workshop

On Saturday, January 10, 2015, VTM in partnership with the HCC MLK Day of Service Project hosted it's 1st ever Youth Empowerment Workshop with a focus on middle & high school girls.
TRUTH
Over 120 middle & high school girls registered to attend, over 30 adults participated as volunteers, and over 20 organizations and business were in association.
HOPE
“Best Heel Forward,” to build character, promote poise and confidence, and encourage positive self imagery through interactive activities centered on etiquette, self-awareness, and service.
EMPOWER
Participating community leaders consisted of radio personalities Anjali “Queen B” of 95.7 The Beat, Ebone Cruz of WTMP AM 1150, Professional NFL Cheerleader & Team Captain of the Jacksonville Jaguars LaFarrah Davis, Attorney Jessica Woghiren of JW Law Firm, Sarah Blackmon of Coily Divas, and Machelle Maner of Wells Fargo, Attorney Ingrid Seraphin, Entrepreneur Andrea Blackley, Author, Producer & Life Coach Shavon Reed, Hillsborough County District School professionals Stevonia Dixon and Daniella Clark, Child Psychologist and Founder of Care For You, Inc. Dr. Kahlila Lawrence, and a performance by the Star Divas Step Team.
MOVE
In the Successfully Serving workshop participants created their own service project based on their opinion of a need in their communities. In addition, PR professional and founder of Pickett PR, Keisha Pickett, commissioned the attendees to lead by example in their communities.
