FLAWLESS: Girls EmpowHERment Workshop
VOICE
On Saturday, January 20, 2018, VTM in partnership with the HCC MLK Day of Service Project, Suncoast Credit Union, and Hillsborough County Parks & Recreation, hosted it's 4th Youth Empowerment Workshop and it's 2nd with a focus on middle & high school girls.
TRUTH
Over 120 middle & high school girls registered to attend, over 50 adults participated as volunteers, and over 30 organizations and business were in association.
HOPE
To educate and inform participants on matters regarding economic development, personal health and self-esteem. Our objective is to provide each of the attendees with the tools necessary to excel economically, academically, and holistically.
EMPOWER
Participating community leaders consisted of Anjali “Queen B” (95.7 The Beat), Kenzie K (Radio Personality, WILD 94.1), Shyann Roberts (Singer, June’s Diary), Dinasty Brown (Entrepreneur, Queendom Dinasty), Lakendria Robinson (Tampa Chamber of Commerce), Dr. Martha Ducatel (Dentist, Healthy Bodies Medical Center), Nhari Bryant (Miss Black Florida 2018), Dr. Kahlila Lawrence (Hillsborough County Schools), Stevonia Dixon (Hillsborough County Schools), Farah Gaston (Entrepreneur), and members of Suncoast Federal Credit Union.
MOVE
The keynote speaker, life coach Angelique Lenox, closed the event commissioning each and every attendee to "Fail Forward," purservering and striving towards their goals and dreams in spite of their fears.
